Set up a barcode scanner - SumUp Support - SumUp

If you are a POS Plus user, you can connect and configure a barcode scanner to scan and add items to the cart at checkout. Improve your business efficiency by retrieving in-store items accurately.

Connect a barcode scanner

After signing up for POS Plus, you can connect a barcode scanner to your POS Lite system or the SumUp app (when used exclusively on a tablet).

To connect the SumUp Barcode Scanner via Bluetooth, scan the barcode from the two-sided setup card to enable HID mode and make your scanner discoverable.
Tap the "Profile" icon at the bottom left corner of the POS Lite screen or the top right corner of the app.
In the menu, select "Barcode Scanner" and then click "Setup scanner".
Select the SumUp Barcode Scanner from the list displayed on the screen.
Once paired, its status will turn green and display "Ready".

If you prefer to connect your SumUp Barcode Scanner using a USB cable or wireless adapter, do so before you start the process mentioned above

Disconnect a scanner by tapping the three dots beside the scanner on the barcode scanner screen and selecting "Forget scanner".
