Edit your billing descriptor

Billing descriptor changes are only reflected on your customers' bank statements. To update your company name instead, this can be done upon request.

  1. Log in to your SumUp profile using a web browser and click the profile icon in the top right corner.

  2. Select "Settings".

  3. Scroll to the Brand & image section and select "Business profile".

  4. Update your billing descriptor in the "Statement descriptor" field and save the changes.

Some banks cut the billing descriptor short, meaning long descriptors may not show in full on customer bank statements.

Why change my billing descriptor?

Recognisable billing descriptors help remind customers of their purchases when looking at their bank statement, reducing the likelihood of mistaken fraud reports.
