Avoid blocked readers
Our card readers have automatic security locks that will permanently block the device to prevent manipulation or tampering.
This lock can be triggered by extreme conditions or forcible impacts. To avoid this, try to avoid temperatures above 40ºC or below 0ºC and don't drop your device.
You can keep accepting contactless payments without a card reader using Tap to Pay on your smartphone. Set it up from the SumUp app and start accepting payments right away.
Replace blocked card readers
Replace blocked card readers if they're still within their warranty period. Make sure you have access to the blocked card reader before starting a replacement request.
