Refusing a direct debit payment
You can cancel a direct debit by revoking its mandate at any time. Individual payments cannot be skipped.
Always get the permission of your creditor before cancelling direct debit payments to avoid penalties.
Cancel direct debits
Log in to your SumUp profile on a web browser or the app.
On a web browser, click "Business Account" in the left navigation panel.
On the app, tap "Business Account" on the home screen.
Expand the upcoming payments section in your transaction history to view existing direct debits.
Select the Direct Debit payment you want to stop.
Choose "Refuse payment" to block the direct debit payment.
Payments are reserved in your account 24 hours before they’re due to send. Cancel payments well in advance to avoid them being sent. In some cases, it may be possible to recover sent transfers.
If you don’t have permission to perform this action, please reach out to the owner or administrator of the SumUp profile for support.
